Delete your account

You can delete your SpeakPair account and the data linked to it at any time, directly inside the app.

In-app deletion (recommended)

Open the app and go to the Profile tab → tap the menu (⋮) in the top-right corner → Delete account. After a confirmation step, your account and associated data are deleted immediately and you are signed out. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Alternative: request deletion by email

If you can no longer sign in, send an email to support@speakpair.com from the email address you registered with. Use the subject line "Delete my SpeakPair account". We'll confirm receipt within 3 business days and complete deletion within 30 days.

What gets deleted

• Your profile (name, photo, languages, bio, streak)
• Authentication record (email + password hash)
• Ratings you have given and received
• Your block list
• Push notification tokens
• Daily talk-time aggregates

What is kept

Some data is anonymized rather than deleted to preserve service integrity:

• Call session metadata (duration, timestamp) — your user ID is removed but the row stays so other users' rating history stays consistent. Retained 90 days.
• Reports filed against the account — kept for 2 years for legal compliance, with your identifier hashed.
• Server access logs — kept 30 days then deleted.

Cancelling deletion

In-app deletion is immediate and cannot be cancelled. For an email request, you can cancel by writing to support@speakpair.com within 7 days of your initial request.
